Russ Stanton is a visual storyteller with a passion for what goes on in front of the camera. Editing is actually his favorite part because that's where you get to see what you're thinking.

This page will be changing all the time so come back often. We'll share Shout Outs on Facebook and Twitter too Come visit Over the Edge on its YouTube Channel at http://www.youtube.com/overtheedgenow
The Journey
We won 4 Telly Awards and a Gold Aurora for The Journey in 2007, the piece to your left. It was a grass-roots production with no budget. I conducted the interviews, Dave Fasano shot half and I matched what he did for Minneapolis and SF. I directed the production design for the edit and Dave edited it with me at my dining room table on a laptop...thus the freedom of new technology. Vision has no limits!!
We Need A Little Love with Clarence
To the right is a music video I produced and directed.  As luck would have it Clarence Clemons was in town for the recording session and donated his sax to a solo for this non-profit piece. Music is by Kurt Shore, and Lyrics by the late Sam Moses.  It was produced to help raise funds for the Viet Nam Vets through my non-profit org. We Need A Little Love.

The Philadelphia Film/VIdeo Community also donated their time and equipment to the cause, and I am forever grateful to them

It was shot on 35mm and I created the set design, the production design, directed the shoot and the edit, plus solicited donations for all the props, film developing, film stock, etc., but it would not have been possible without the generosity of so many people.
A Day with Michael O'Donoghue

Emmy winning SNL writer Michael O'Donoghue was scheduled for an interview with us the day after Halloween.

He had a rather raucous party the night before and he showed up at the door in his bathrobe, having forgotten about the interview.

Tim Hawthorne produced the shoot, but left the footage for Russ to figure out how to tell the story.

A tough one to figure out, but he wrote and produced a rather different piece, according to Evening Magazine standards.

This is an excerpt from a longer piece, but it gets across the idea of what a unique person he was and is definitely missed!!
